Purpose of the seminar
- see a big picture; ethics as an integrative subject
- understand internal conflicts better -> resolve them more calmly, with less stress; not to act irrationally;…believe there is always a way out!
- learn how to manage guilty feeling (too little/too much) facing problems
- understand many others are experiencing the same (or worse) conflicts as you; you are not alone!
- understand how to apply ethical theories
- overall, be a wiser ethical decision maker
Scope of the seminar
- cross boundaries: countries, ethnic cultures, work natures, etc; business management, human behaviour, philosophy, theology
- little on what companies should do or not i.e. corporate social resp.(CSR)
- little on how to make the society more ethical
- concentrate on internal feelings, decision processes of private individuals, employees, middle management, top management
- ways to manage internal conflicts/ethical dilemmas systematically
