Improvements You Can Notice!

A certain Asian airline has an unfortunate and pitiful
safety record with a string of crashes and mishaps.
On the anniversary of the recent tragedy, on a full
page ad, the airline humbly announced "Improvements
You Can Notice!"   It's not easy to erase people's
memory and rebuild a reputation!

On the other hand, what if my reputation is not so good?
What if people still remember me as immature, selfish,
bad-tempered or undependable?
What if God has forgiven me but others wouldn't?

Should I care what others think?  Certainly!
Is there anything I could do?  Paul offers this advice:

But one thing I do:  Forgetting what is behind and
straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the
goal to win the prize for which God has called me
heavenward in Christ Jesus.  Phil 3:13-14 (NIV)

Changing what others think of me is probably the hardest
thing in the world, even in church.
"What have I learned from my mistakes?" or I still think
it's the other's fault.
After asking forgiveness from God and from the people
I have hurt, "Have I improved and changed?"
After answering yes to these questions, what others
think of me is really up to the grace of God.

The person I was isn't as important as the person I am
going to be. The important thing is, are there
"Improvement You Can Notice"?
