I have heard from Wai Sum that a new baby girl was born on 7th June
in
your family. Congratulations! I am sending this news to everybody so
that they can share your joy. Hope this new change will bring you new
joy, peace and luck in your ventures. Don't we all need them as well?
God bless you all,
Charles

Kam Wah,
(1) ..............
(2) I'll contact Ka Yun and Wai Sum tonight.
(3) Your article, as same as Jim's, are fine in English. I presume most
of us can understand what you write,
with appropriate inserted photos. One historic photo is attached for
your reference. If you've got others that can
go together with your article, do try to mail them to me. The final
publishing date would have to be delayed anyway,
if I am going to mail the brochure back to Wai Sum for comment.
Best regards,
Man Keung

Dear Man Keung,
1) 2) 3) .......
4) Wai Sum just phoned me and mentioned you phoned her yesterday; and are mailing the prototype to her. Once again she wants to say a big THANKYOU to you. But you did not talk about her article and alternative ways to have it completed. Are you still waiting for her article? She is still struggling--time available, writing ability, mind too much occupied by what happened in the end period. She mailed the photos to you about 7 days ago. She also knew that Ka Yun's piece is reaching the finish point. Ka Yun fears that you may not wait for her. She may write to you directly.
5) I can translate my own piece into Chinese. However, it takes time and I cannot give it a priority at the moment.
6) Photos attached were too small to see clearly. Can you enlarge? I
can remember one or two photos as per what you
mentioned. But I need time to find them.
7 and 8) Thank you again for all your time and efforts. I don't have much to comment. I am open to printing alternatives.
regards,
Charles

Kam Wah,
(1), (2) ........
(3) Bobby had taken photos at Chiu sir's funeral service but they are
now in one of the 20 carton boxes stored
in the garage of his friend. He'll go to his friend's house to serach
for the photos this Sunday.
(4) I'll ring Wai Sum tonight to see if the photos of memorial hike is on the way.
(5) Your article and Jim's article are in English. If we can find someone
to translate them, it's worth doing it.
The Chinese version would then be printed as supplementary articles.
(6) I've inserted a number of photos to the articles. Attached are images
of your article's page 1, page 2 and page 5.
The photo in page 5 is provided by Kam Lin. It's a valuable one as
you, Kam Hung and Kam Ling are all included.
If you have got some more photos of your own or of kamchingactivities,
for example about building steps and
clearing waterway of the Saikung canoe hut, or photos taken with Chiu
sir, you can mail them to me to be inserted
in the article.
(7) The printing cost is quite expensive because I am using photo quality
inkjet paper and use high resolution (720 dpi).
The cost of 100 papers is A$25, and the cost of ink per 100 papers
is around A$25. That means the cost of one A4
printout is A$0.5. For 53 pages, it's A$26.5. The cost of one Clearfront
Display Book (plastic folder with 20 pockets)
is A$1.8, and A$0.7 for 10 refill pockets. So the total cost would
be A$29 ( a blow out from earlier estimate of A$18).
The printing cost in Hong Kong should be cheaper, but the service charge
is expensive. It's best if Ka Lun or Ka Kui
or someone can arrange to print from their friend's computer and color
inkjet printer ( I am using Epson 740 ).
(8) I'll try to edit the cover page this weekend to give it a final
touch.
Best regards,
Man Keung

Man Keung,
Again I appreciate your efforts and hope that they will generate good results. ........
Re. my artilce, has somebody translated it? Or just retain the English version?
What have Wai Sum and you agreed on, regarding the article she is writing/audio taping/longdistance telephone?
I am surprised at your comment on Ka Yun/Yu. Have they told you they are not writing? Do you want me to phone again? KaYu and Ka Yun are very close; they phone each other almost everyday.
Of course, we have been waiting for contributions by KK and others. If they agree, they desrve our waiting.
If a prototype version arrives at Wai Sum as you suggested, I can bring it to ask for some quotes. However, it looks like that for small quantities, printing would be more expensive.
Thank you again.
Charles
