Dear Man Keung and Jim,
Yesterday Wai Sum told me that she had not started writing although had been thinking about how to write. Ka Yun told me yesterday that she had written one half and said Ka Yue would start. She preferred putting their pieces in the brochure to in CD-ROM.
If you think that they have to submit their pieces before Jim return
to Hong Kong, please contact them directly, as I do not
want to give them too much pressure.
Wai Sum also got some photos from Ka Lun on the memorial hike in April. I told her to ring Jim to see if he could bring them to Man Keung. If Jim hasn't got them yet, what should she do, e.g. mail to Man Keung?
Re. the title of the brochure, I think Man Keung's suggested one seems to carry too much sadness. I prefer we focus on our remembering him, our respect, etc.
regards,
Charles

Jim,
I can't finish the CD Rom project by the time you arrive Sydney.
But I am trying to finish the brochure project so that you can bring
it
back to Hong Kong for printing.
I'll try my best to bring with me the first print out of the brochure
when
we meet at yum cha on Saturday morning.
As for those photos you've got in Hong Kong, bring only those photos
you think must be included in the brochure. I'll then try to add some
of
them to the final print out on Saturday night.

Man Keung,
Bobby is going to pick me on Saturday morning at the Sydney Intentional Airport. I am going to have Chinese Dim Sum with him before returning to my brother's place. My plan is to spend the remaining Saturday with my brother and I will have myself available to the Sydney Gang of Four on Sunday. I can take the CD-ROM and the Memorial brochure with me back to Hong Kong and pass that to my sister who will be at the Hong Kong International Airport to see my Mother off. Charles can pick up the package from my sister afterward.
Are the photos that I have supplied adequate for the publication? Do you want me to bring some of the original photos with me during this trip? Please advise. I plan to return the whole box of Chiu Sir's legacies to Wai Shum after we finished with our two projects. I don't know whether I will have the time to scan Kam Lin's photos tonight but I will certainly try to accomplish that tonight.
On Sunday, we also need to strategise how we can maintain our momentum by addressing a few of the questions that I raised previously.
Thank you for all you help and am look forward to seeing you on Sunday.
Regards,
Jim

Hi Man Keung and Charles,
Our efforts finally pay off as kamching.com is officially online.
What's
next?
1. The first challenge is to publicise the website so that it can be
accessed by a lot more people.
2. The second challenge is to constantly update the information so that
the
website becomes more interesting rather than stagnant.
3. The third challenge is to convert the site so that it is bilingual
to
facilitate a lot of our friends that might be more comfortable with
Chinese
than English.
4. The fourth challenge is to reach out to others who might not have
access
to a computer and/or internet services.
5. Finally we need a strategic plan to sustain our effort and expand
our
core group of volunteer to ensure the eternal flame of kamching will
burn
brilliantly in the years to come.
I will be bring back some of the photos and articles from Oz on May
29. I
will drop that off with my relatives who will be taking my Mom to the
Airport on that day. Charles could pick up the package from my
relatives or
I could met him at the airport. I will be arriving at 3:00 pm
on Cathay
from Sydney to Hong Kong on May 29. However, I want to ensure
that Man
Keung is ready with the CD ROM and the Memorial Bulletin by the time
I
depart Oz on Monday. Otherwise, Man Keung has to mail the stuff
to us
later.
I plan to organise another kamching event at the Hebe Haven Kayak Base
in
late June to publicse the CD ROM, website and bulletin.
I am going to be in Australia and will discuss some of these issues
with the
Kamching Gang of Four in Oz.
