I agree with KK's opinion. A lot of us do not have the habit of using e-mail facilities. I, for example, do not use this until probably the beginning of this year and I still don't know a lot about e-mail and how to fully utilise this electronic communication channel. So, don't be discouraged and, given time, more and more brothers and sisters will start showing some interest in e-mailing.
Regard,
Chris.

Dear all,
Thanks a lot for encouragements from Chris and Ka Kui. Hope to see your
emails from
time to time, even short ones.
Wai Sum, Ka Lun, Ka Yun (and husband) and I will meet this evening (18th),
to have
some sharing again on the photos, and probably on how they could contribute
to the
vision and mission of Kamching. The brochure will be very valuable
to them (and us).
But in their minds I know they still have the question: what would
be next?
If you have some thoughts at this moment that you believe can enlighten
us or
trigger discussions, please send over through email.
regards,
Charles

Subject: what next after the project
Date: Tue, 18 Jul 2000
From: "clement chui"
Dear Kam Wah,
Glad to know that you've organized a meeting with Wai Sum, Ka Yan &
Ka Lun.
Please forward any comment or extra photos to me as soon as possible.
Please
also advise on the completion date of Ka Yan's article. I need to complete
the
projects so as to move on with my new business.
What's next after our projects? That's a question that everybody should
consider.
My views are:
1. I don't think we have the volunteers and the time to continue the
activities of KCA.
What we should do is to keep in touch with one another,
look forward and
continue our personal business and family commitment.
In Jame's word, it is to
"ignite the eternal flame of Kamching" but in each
others role and environment.
2. The KCA should continue its presence in Cyberspace.
3. Encourage our members and friends to add content to and make use
of the KCA
web site to attract public interest in ways favourable
to the promotion of our
broader mission of serving the community in memory
of Chiu sir:
a. Allow our members to create their personal directories.
Contents of personal
web sites could include resume,
business plans and links to other sites.
For example, Jim can publish under
his directory, say www.kamching.com/jim
and links to his company's site
and I can publish my business plans and fees
charged for my web design business
in www.kamching.com/cchui and link to
my customers. Contents of personal
web should be allowed to sell one's
expertise but could not be in
violation of the KCA mission in a broader sense.
b. Allow our members to add contents that can educate and
serve the community
so as to attract more visitors to our
site. For example, I can publish my ideas
on Chinese language, literature and
history under directories like
www.kamching.com/chinese or www.kamching.com/chinesehistory
c. Upgrade the web hosting plan from "basic' (C$5/month)
to "professional"
(C$25/month) if the above 2 ideas are
allowed, so as to add interactive functions
like submitting forms and hosting
databases which include server side scripting.
I would be happy to pay for the
web hosting fees.
4. After completion of the 3 projects should come the promotion and
distribution which
could include:
1. Posting an advertisement in newspaper and all relevant
newsletters or publications.
2. Exchange icons with linkage to DEA web site, outward
bound web site and all
relevant and willing organisations.
3. Contact Reader's Digest see if we can post an article
on it.
4. Brochures and CDs for Hak Shun and Hak Wing can be
mailed direct from Sydney.
For members in HK, it can be brought
back after Ka Kui and Jim's visit to Sydney.
( All brochure documents and images
would be included in the CD after compression.)
5. Organize a dinner meeting of KCA members and friends
in HK to distribute brcochures
and CDs and collect subsidies.
6. Keep the Memorial Walk an annual event so that friends
of Kamching can meet
each other.
Also, please tell Ka Yan and Ka Lun their kamching email accounts.
Ka Yan: kayan@kamching.com
Ka Lun: kalun@kamching.com
Ka Yue: kayue@kamching.com
Passwords are ....... Both the username and the passwords
can be changed.

Subject: what next after the project

Dear Man Keung,
I have just returned from Ka Yun's place and had some good sharing with Ka Lun and Wai Sum.
Attached is Ka Lun's memorial article. He would like his recent photo (taken on his yacht) to be placed there.
Ka Yun shall see a pastor tomorrow who has advised some Bible verses to be integrated into her article. After getting help to have it typed, she expects sending it to you in a week's time.
Ka Yun shall also summarise suggested changes on the brochure, on a few pages to be faxed to you, hopefully in three days time.
Ka Yun once again said Ka Yu wanted to write also. I told her that Ka Yu needed to submit as soon as possible.
A few words of my article need to be changed. Some are grammar. One was suggested by Ka Lun. Will tell you later.
They shall use the kamching.com email addresses in the near future, including myself.
Hak Shun and Hak Wing were also mentioned. We wondered whether they have been informed of the Kamching website so that they can know how things are moving. (If not, Ka Yun or I can write them, if addressed are confirmed). Perhaps they would like to write a few words also.
Re. your views on 'what is next after the projects', I have briefly told them. I agree to them in general. Ka Yun and Ka Lun will contribute more efforts (e.g. making telephone calls, planning) in the coming events, particularly the next memorial walk and the dinner meeting for distributing the brochure.
Hope the above can contribute,
Charles
