Hi Kam Wah,
Just returned from holiday.
Attached is the telegram from the Duke to Chiu sir. Will include
that in the brochure.
Have you collected their comment and suggestions on the brochure?

Dear Man Keung,
It seems good news that your have started a new business. Would be interested
in learning more about it.
What about the accounting software dealership you mentioned earlier;
same or
different streams?
If your web business grows, how would that affect the Kamching projects?
Your
dilemma?
Perhaps we should revisit the future (vision and mission) of Kamching
and
Kamching.com, now that the brochure is approaching completion, thanks
to your
efforts. I am curious why many senior members are so quiet. I believe
Wai Sum
and the children are eager to know, although they know the future of
Kamching
rely on Chiu Sir's students.
Wai Sum told Jim on the phone to bring the photos etc. he brought back
from
Australia, to Ka Lun's place. As Wai Sum's place at Clearwater Bay
is too wet
to keep things, she will also transport some old things of Chiu Sir/Kamching
to Ka Lun.
Best regards,
Charles
p.s. can we have some sort of counters at Kamching.com to see the accumulated
number of visitors? How to do it? I would also to do it for my personal
web.

Dear Kam Wah,
Thanks for your enquiry on my web design bussiness.
The software I am recruited to support is not mature enough to be
competitive in the market. On the other hand there is a potential demand
for web site design by small business. With my skills in HTML, Javascript
and Photoshop it might be the right direction for me to earn a living.
My endeavour in web design bussiness will only contribute to the building
of
the kamching web site, although in the short run it does occupy most
of my
time.
At present there is very few hits of the site. You can log in as
administrator and view the log files from the administration options.
Since our web is
still not completed, not forwarded to search engines and haven't been
publicised, it is still not known to the public. However, even if it's
completed, few
people will come back after the initial visit.
I suggest that both you and I and other members can publish on the KCA
web
under our personal directories, either for interest, community service
or
promoting our bussiness.
It's my personal interest to start a web site in classical Chinese and
Chinese history, which I have been hoping for some time . For my web
design
bussiness, it's obvious that I have to advertise myself on the web.
It
wouldn't cost much if I start a web of myself, but I think it worthwhile
to post them
on the KCA web. In that way, more people will visit the KCA web and
our aim
of memorial and glorification of Chiu sir and Kamching will be better
accomplished. If it so happened that our personal use have outgrown
the main
purpose of the KCA web, I would be happy to upgrade our web hosting
plan
and pay for the web hosting fees. I would think it's a way of keeping
us to
maintain the KCA web and input our efforts continuously.
You said that you are curious why many senior members are so quiet.
The
answer, I think, is due to the limited number of us, the habit of using
email for communication, and the very heavy burden of workload. One
more
reason, as Kam Hung pointed out, is that although we've known each
other
for a long time, our communication has seldom been intimate. We are
not
as close as in Christian fellowship.
I have to go to my friend's house to prepare for tomorrow's meeting.
Hope that everything goes smoothly.

Man Keung and Kam Wah,
I don't think people are not interested. Most brothers just do not
have the time and habbit to operate e-mails. Don't be discouraged.

Dear Man Keung,
Thank you for your response and Ka Kui's encouragement.
I shall try the log files (for kamching.com and my own website) to monitor
the
number of visitors regularly and report to Kamching friends in the
bulletin.
I trust there are and will be quite a number of visitors to my own website,
as I
make known the address in most of outgoing emails which go to various
kinds of
local and international organisations; and the email messages are contemporary
in nature and touch the community's daily thoughts and lives.
As for Kamching.com, at some suitable time in the future, we may need
some
promotion. But in my opinion, that should be led by Kamching's vision
and
mission statements.
I like your thought and vision that our personal webs, in accomplishing
the goal
of remembering and glorifying Chiu sir and Kamching, might outgrow
the main
purpose of the KCA web. However, if conducting business through personal
websites attached to Kamching.com is allowed, I think some self-regulation
guidelines are needed. We can refer to similar guidelines when we come
across
them. I shall try.
I have put a Kamching Homepage icon at my website. Are we putting icons
the
other way round for your, my and others personal webs?
I hope your web design business will grow. I also hope that I can refer
some to
you later. I can also offer conceptual support in respect of business
management, if it is needed.
Let us Kamching brothers and sisters, share more. A few sentences each
time
(which requires little time) can inspire, empower, comfort and trigger
actions.
Charles

Dear Kam Wah,
Just come back from meeting with my client.
We are successful in getting the job. That should be a good start.
I just find out that our new server does not afford log files for
inspection. I'll need to design some kind of counter for our web.
Waiting for the dinner with Bobby, Chris and Mark tonight.
